Lance = Hilarious

Lance’s visit was really great. Nothing crazy - since we’re both Dads now! - but a lot of smiling and chuckling about old times, good times. Crazy stories about getting stuck in sorority houses or sneaking into the biology labs after hours. (Don’t even ask.) I had no idea that person search could be so useful. That’s pretty cool, huh? Lance actually said he often uses it to do a background check on employees. He’s a manager at a tutoring company, so it’s a huge concern for him. Anyway, Lance still has a great sense of humor. He sent me an email to thank me for hosting him and included a link to stuff white people like.

I Made It

Wow, I made it to my third posting. My son and I had a bet going. He thought I’d never make it past the second post. Looks like he’s gonna have to pay up. Of course, I’m the one who pays his allowance, so I guess he wins in the end. Oh well, the little punk. But at the very least, I’m happy about updating this blog. It gives me something to focus on besides just work, which is absolutely brutal right about now. It’s tax season, so all the engineers who can’t be bothered to do their own taxes have been bribing me to do theirs. It’s good money (which is why I have trouble turning it down), but it’s so much work. So I’m happy to get away to the computer every once in awhile for blogging and people searching. I’ve been getting pretty into the online searching. Found an old roommate from college that I just lost touch with the help of a find relative site. He wasn’t a relative, but it still worked. His name is Lance, and he’s coming to visit in a couple weeks! I’m pretty excited. It was incredibly easy to look for someone find them and contact them. My son games a lot, and he’s submitted this funny Rant Farm - To The Players From My Last Call of Duty 4 Team Deathmatch for me to post. Okay, I’m gonna look for some vitamins online and then get back to work. See ya.

Found a Focus

So, this is my second post to this blog. Earlier this week, I was worried about posting because I still had yet to really home in on a singular focus for my blog. Well, I think I’ve arrived at a good central focus. Do you know much about people searching online? My son is only 11, but he’s been finding all these old friends from his summer camp from two years ago. I asked him how, and he said people search. What’s people search? It’s the use of online people search engines to pull up public records, addresses, phone numbers of people that you maybe went to school with or dated long ago. It’s actually pretty cool. You can find almost anyone! I actually don’t really need to find anyone at the moment, but I’m just impressed at the ease with which one can find a person. That was the first link. I plan on giving you guys more links each update as I get more and more ensconced in the world of how to search people. So if you wanna find person, check back regularly for updates. I’ll also give links to my little funny thing I’m always reading, like this: Rant Farm - To the Girl Who Kissed Me When I Was Five.

Hello world!

Hey Everyone. The name is Tyler. I decided to start this blog to see what the big deal was. My son has a blog and a myspace and all that kind of stuff, and he seems really into it, so I just wanted to see what all the hullaballoo was about.  So here I am.  Briefly, I’m a husband and a father.  I work as an accountant for a large engineering firm is Tacoma, Washington.  I had the most adorable labradoodle you’ve ever seen.  And I like mint ice cream.  I’m not sure yet what I plan to use this blog for.  My son (who’s 11, by the way) says he loves using the internet to stay in touch with people - but I figure all the people I would want to stay in touch with are too old to have blog or myspace accounts.  Anyway, I’ll keep you posted.  I’m off to watch Singing In The Rain - oh, that’s another thing about me, I’m a sucker for old musicals.
